This is a gemstone that instantly fascinated me. First, it’s found in Australia, and the cabochons created from this stone can display beautiful patterns of these Earthy and Firey colors. It was more expensive and difficult to obtain when I first learned of it, but I’m very glad that it has become much easier and affordable to purchase. The Science of Mookaite

This is a stone that is formed exclusively in Australia. It is often grouped in the Jasper family, but it is not a Jasper. It is a porcellanite. It comes in a mix of red, yellow, white and grey. The colors are formed due to the iron oxide/hydroxide in the soil where it is collected.

Historical Significance of Mookaite

This is a rather new addition to the gemstone market. It started appearing in about 2010 and has become quite popular since then. It is names after Mooka Station, in Western Australia, where it was originally discovered.

Metaphysical Attributes of Mookaite

This is a stone I associate with The Fool and The Chariot in the Tarot. Both of these cards speak to moving forward on your Path. This is a gemstone that is extremely supportive during new beginnings and adventures. Mookaite allows us to envision the array of possibilities and instinctually know the best path for our Highest Good. It helps us move forward with confidence and instills a sense of calm during this change. This stone encourages flexibility, versatility, and risk taking. It supports taking the necessary actions to move in your chosen direction.

Mookaite is a stone of the Earth and Nature. It enables you to find support and energy through direct connection to the earth. If you go outside with a piece of Mookaite, it will allow you to feel the energy around you that is alive and infinite. You can channel that energy to help you feel more confident, invigorated, and safe. This stone also helps you to connect and communicate with ancestor spirits, nature spirits, and animal guides.

Sit in a seated meditation position, holding the Mookaite in your less dominant hand to receive its energy.  Really feel the support of the cushion or floor beneath you. You are grounded and supported by the Earth’s energies. Imagine that you are seated on immense leaves that provide support and energy from deep within the Earth. See a path that is clear and brightly lit before you. Repeat this mantra, “I am open to New Experiences I am Confident in my Direction. I am able to move forward toward my Goal.” Alternately, hold a Mookaite mala and chant this mantra 108 times.
