Benefits of Receiving Reiki
If you’ve heard about Reiki, or read about it, but you’re not sure if it can help you, here are six common ways receiving Reiki can help. There are many more benefits, but these are the commonly reports benefits of Reiki. If any one of these (or more) resonates with you, I encourage you to find a Reiki practitioner in your area.

1. Reducing Anxiety and Stress
By far one of the most common benefits of Reiki is stress reduction. When you receive Reiki you will likely be in an environment that is still, quiet, and peaceful. The session space itself should be relaxing and inviting. During the session, you’ll have this time of stillness and peace. The Reiki energy will enhance these feelings of relaxation and enable you to allow thoughts of what is troubling you to dissolve and drift away. The Reiki energy can stop the non-stop cycle of thoughts and worries, allowing stress and anxiety to fade.
2. Improve Relaxation and Sleep
This peaceful Reiki space is also very conducive for relaxation and the release of muscular tension. If you are prone to headaches, muscle tightness, or grinding your teeth, the energy of Reiki can help you release all tightness and holding that cause these pains. Often Reiki is described as extremely relaxing and many clients fall asleep or doze off during the session. Receiving distance Reiki in the evening can help you drift off to sleep with ease.
3. Enhance Your Body Healing Abilities
Reiki can also be very supportive when you are healing from and injury or illness. It is an excellent complement to your medical treatment. When your body has had rest, its energy is flowing efficiently, and its muscles are relaxed, the body itself can devote much more energy to healing. It boosts your own body’s healing abilities so you can recover swifter. Receiving a Reiki session before and after a scheduled surgery can set you up for healing success. If you are feeling too poorly to go to a Reiki session, you can receive a distance session from a practitioner as you rest at home.

4. Improved Energy Flow
Reiki is not just relaxing. It is an excellent energizer when you’re feeling fatigued or unmotivated. Reiki dissolves any energy blocks you may be holding within and encourages efficient energy flow. When energy is blocked or stagnant, often we feel tired, not wanting to get out of bed, or do anything. Blocks can be caused by poor sleep, stress, unhealthy eating habits, lack of movement or emotional distress. Reiki can dissolve these blocks to give you the physical energy you need to resolve the root cause of the blockages and ensure regular daily energy.
5. Mindfulness and Presence
Sitting quietly through a Reiki session enables us to truly look at our experience in the moment. How did our energy feel before and after a session? What about our racing thoughts or pain level? A Reiki session gives us the opportunity to stop and look within. We have more awareness of our present situation and experiences. You’ll find you may have better focus and concentration when regularly receiving treatments.
6. Processing Emotions and Traumas
Often people experience physical symptoms when emotions are not properly addressed. Bottling up emotion traps it within and causes stress, pain and illnesses. Unprocessed emotions can prevent us from moving further and developing in life. You may even know that you need to work through emotions and past trauma, but want a safe space in which to do so. Reiki helps to gently remove what is binding those emotions and supports you while they are released.
