Charoite – (Third Eye & Crown Chakras) – (Zodiac of Sagittarius & Scorpio)
This is one of my very favorite new stones. I learned about it in 2010 and have absolutely adored it ever since. Purple is my favorite color and this stone has multiple shades! This stone plays with swirls of color, flash and black. Each piece is different and emits a wonderfully uplifting energy. Every time I get a chance to buy some for jewelry, I leap at it. The Science of Charoite
Charoite comes from only one location, Murun Mountain in Yakutia, Russia. It is a very distinct looking stone with swirls of varying shades of purple and occasionally touched with black. There is sometimes some “flash” or chatoyancy in the stone. It is unmistakable and quite beautiful.
Historical Significance of Charoite
This is a fairly recently discovered stone. It was initially discovered on the 1940s, but didn’t come to market until the late 1970s. It has only really become popular as a jeweler’s gem within the last ten years. Geologist’s fear that the exclusivity of its mining location, combined with its new popularity, may soon diminish the supply.
Metaphysical Attributes of Charoite
Charoite is most helpful during times of massive change. It helps us to stop, look at a situation as it is, and accept the present moment just as it is. “It is the soul stone that overcomes fear.” It helps us to release overwhelming fear, reduce stress, and enter into a relaxed state. Often when we are under great stress, we move, move, fix, fix, to try to get rid of the stress, and our actions in this state can aggravate the situation. The Charoite spiritual properties helps us to stop, look at our stressors rationally, and come to acceptance. Only then can we make wise decisions about how to move forward.
This stone cleanses the aura and fills all chakras with love. It opens the heart to the Divine Love accessed via the Crown and awakens deep compassion. Allows one to understand “negative qualities” and accept others as they are without the need to change.

Charoite Mantra Practice
Sit in seated meditation, holding the Charoite in your less dominant hand to receive its energy. Really feel the support of the cushion or floor beneath you. You are grounded and supported by the Earth’s energies. Bring your attention to your entire body and your energy field. See it and feel it, just as it is. Just BE. Repeat these words. “I accept myself and my life just as it is. I trust in the Universe to guide me to my True Path and Direction.” Alternately, hold a Charoite mala and chant this mantra 108 times.

What an exquisite gem. Interesting that it is found only in an area of Russia. The stone is associated with Scorpio and I think I remember reading that the Russian nation was ‘birthed’ under the sign of Scorpio? (I could be very, very wrong or just right!) xxx
